Info

To all guitar, fiddle, banjo, bass and dobro players: Want to get a great start at being a Bluegrass jammer?
We' ll get you going quickly! Solo practice is good but it s not as helpful as playing real music with others!
Jamming is fun! Mistakes are expected. When someone first picks up an instrument, the hope is: "Someday I'll be able to jam." But too often "the way in" is not clear. Memorizing someone else's solos is a dead end. People quit. It's time to get started playing real music -- with easy chords, gentle tempos, friendly people!
We understand what you need and want, and we can make it happen!
We teach Jam Skills, not tab-reading (which is of no help in a jam session).
We get you together with people like yourself, to learn the basics together.
It's more fun to play real music, and the fun goes up as you all improve!

Hands-on learning in large and small groups
Learn many bluegrass standards. Play songs you ve never played! Better yet In minutes you ll play songs you've never heard!
Full ground rules and etiquette of typical jams
How to find melodies, fake solos, carry a tune, sing harmony
Tab/note reading skills are not needed or used
Understanding, low-pressure, time-tested teaching!
Gentle tempos! Mistakes expected
How to lead songs and how to follow new songs
Ear skills taught and emphasized, as in real Bluegrass
Group and individualized instruction on backup skills
